Healing starts with us
November 25th marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, a day dedicated to shedding light on the pressing issue of violence against women and girls worldwide. This year, the Family & Youth sector Family & Youth of the Ministry of SOAW, Bos di Hubentut, Soroptimist International Club Curacao, Venex, Stichting Nihaila House, Youth in Development Foundation, Fundashon Nos Tei Pa Otro, CAFRA Curaçao and Amnesty International Curaçao organizing a collaborative conference, uniting key organizations to bring this impactful event to life.
Under the theme ‘This is My Story’, the conference will spotlight the voices of survivors and insights from professionals, with the shared goal of building a world free from violence and inequality.

Curaçao
We are preparing a conference that will be thought-provoking, eye-opening, and at times heartbreaking. Over the course of five days, participants will engage with powerful stories, critical insights, and meaningful dialogue.
The conference is offered as a complete 5-day experience; single-day tickets are not available.
Each day includes:
-Morning sessions with lectures, live interviews, and panel discussions
-Afternoon masterclasses led by our keynote speakers
This program is designed to move you, challenge you, and deepen your understanding of violence against women and kids from multiple perspectives.
A conference from October 26th to 30th where survivors will courageously share their stories to raise awareness and inspire, followed by afternoon workshops led by professionals on topics including Sexual Abuse, Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking & Cyber Networks, Child Abuse, Workplace intimidation & Aggression, Healing.
The organizing committee consists of: sector Family & Youth of the Ministry of SOAW, Bos di Hubentut, Soroptimist International Club Curacao, Venex, Stichting Nihaila House, Youth in Development Foundation, Fundashon Nos Tei Pa Otro, CAFRA Curaçao and Amnesty International Curaçao.
On the last day, October 30th, the focus shifts to healing and self-care, equipping field workers with tools to safeguard their mental and physical well-being in the face of the challenges they encounter. Ensuring that those who help others also have the tools to protect their own mental and physical health.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be better prepared to handle complex cases, advocate for victims, and sustain their own well-being while making a lasting impact in the fight against violence.
The purpose of the “This Is My Story” is to educate, empower, and equip field workers with the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively support and protect women and children affected by violence. Through expert-led sessions, real-life survivor testimonies, and in-depth discussions on sexual abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking, participants will gain a deeper understanding of these critical issues and learn best practices for intervention and prevention.
